Nissan Altima

The Nissan Altima is offered in trim levels such as the S, SV, SL, SR, and SR VC-Turbo. Models behind 2023 may also come in a Midnight Edition or Platinum model. Active grille shutters, intelligent on/off LED projector headlights, LED trademark daytime running lights, and dual power outside mirrors are commonly found standard on all trims. You can get chrome door handles and grille pieces, along with other exterior highlights, depending on what trim you choose. Some models, such as the SR and SR VC-Turbo, stand out with a dark chrome V-Motion grille and body-color door handles. A set of 16-inch wheels usually comes standard on starting trims, with models such as the SR VC-Turbo including 19-inch machined finish wheels.

The Nissan Altima has two engine choices that use a CVT automatic gearbox. On front-wheel-drive vehicles, the base 2.5-liter direct injection gasoline four-cylinder system generates 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, while AWD variants make 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The second engine is a 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo 4-cylinder engine. Recent models can produce 236 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque on regular unleaded gasoline, or 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet on 93 octane fuel.

The Altima was designed to wow, with Nissan's engineers dialing up responsiveness and refinement. Steering sensation and control are at their peak, thanks to a dual-pinion, electric-powered steering mechanism, an aluminum enclosure, and steel mounting brackets. With independent rear suspension and monotube rear shocks, you'll get confident handling and stability. Hill start assist is included to keep you from rolling backwards on a hill. Fuel economy ratings reach 27 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.

The Nissan Altima's seating for five is supportive and well-crafted, and the front seats get manual adjustment features at the least. A leather interior, heated front seats with power adjustments, and a heated steering wheel can all be standard, depending on the trim. Headroom and legroom numbers are impressive compared to much of the competition. The base model has a 5.0-inch instrument cluster display with the latest version of NissanConnect. On recent models, the right trim level can include a 7.0-inch display for the instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The highest models can include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, GPS, and more. The Altima also includes related NissanConnect Services, like remote engine start and stop, remote door lock and unlock, and more, controllable from a phone app.

All Nissan Altimas will come standard with Safety Shield 360. This package includes a minimum feature set of automated emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and a driver attention monitor. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams are also included on most model years and trims. Available safety features, depending on the model, include traffic sign recognition, a 360-degree video system, and a ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous mode.
