Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 has impressive configurations, so you can find an option that works best for your needs and budget. This vehicle has eight trims: the Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX. Two cab configurations are available with the Crew or Quad Cab. It's also available with a 5-foot-7-inch or 6-foot-4-inch bed, and you can add features such as a spray-in bed liner and adjustable tie-downs. The truck does have an optional multi-functional tailgate, which swings open or to the side like a car door.

Depending on the trim and configuration, you'll find one of four engine options under the hood of the Ram 1500. The Ram 1500 offers a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6, and a Supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Regardless of the engine, the truck uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but all-wheel drive is available.

Fuel economy runs the gamut for the truck, and you'll get the best numbers from the Tradesman HFE with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine and rear-wheel drive. Expect an EPA-estimated 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Also, when properly equipped, the truck has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds and a hauling capacity of up to 2,300 pounds of maximum payload. The towing capacity rating is one of the highest in this truck's class.

Inside the Ram 1500, you'll find plenty of passenger space and storage. You can tailor the interior to your liking. Higher trims have upscale materials, such as heated and ventilated seats and premium leather upholstery, which makes the truck feel more like a luxury vehicle than a work truck. The rear bench seats have a backrest angle, so the seats recline slightly. Wind noise is also at a minimum, especially with the higher trims. The Ram 1500 has one of the best infotainment systems to keep everyone connected. It has a standard 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen display to access the Uconnect infotainment system easily. Both are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

All Ram 1500 trucks have many driver-assistance features to keep you and your travelers safe. These key features include automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Opt for the surround-view parking camera system, trailer sway damping, and rear camera mirror to provide additional assistance when towing a trailer. The trailer sway damping adjusts the truck's brakes if the trailer begins to sway, while the rear camera mirror streams a view of what's behind the vehicle to the rearview mirror.
