You’ll find many family restaurants in Las Cruces, NM, whether you’re dining with just your kids or a larger group. You can’t go wrong with one of our four favorite child-friendly options in the area.

1. A Bite of Belgium

If you’re interested in trying Belgian cuisine, this restaurant is a fun place to take the family for breakfast or lunch. Options on the kids’ menu include grilled cheese, a ham sandwich, or a Belgian waffle called a liege with an egg and either bacon or sausage.

Other menu selections include both hot and cold sandwiches along with a wide variety of waffles with fancy toppings like lemon mousse or Bavarian cream. You can also get French toast and other breakfast items. It’s at 741 North Alameda Boulevard in Las Cruces, open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

2. Nopalito

This family friendly Las Cruces institution has been serving authentic Mexican favorites since 1964. The kids’ menu offers cheese quesadillas, beef burritos, and bean burritos along with the option of a hot dog and French fries. For the adults, you’ll find staples such as burritos, enchiladas, tacos, chimichangas, and flauta. You can also keep it simple with a cheeseburger and fries. Nopalito has two locations in Las Cruces. The original, athastreet, is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day but Wednesday. The second restaurant, at 2605 Missouri Street, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Chilitos

Chilitos is another Mexican spot with lots of kid-friendly options. You’ll find pancakes, french toast, and huevos rancheros on the kids’ brunch menu, with choices like tacos, quesadillas, grilled cheese, and chicken strips for lunch and dinner. The adults in your group will also find a wide variety at Chilitos. The restaurant serves salads, burgers, steaks, and sandwiches alongside traditional Mexican specialties.

Chilitos is located at 3850 Foothills Road in Las Cruces. It’s open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

4. Si Señor

This family-owned restaurant has been a local favorite for nearly four decades. Kids can choose from taquitos, grilled cheese, chicken strips, burritos, and more. The adult menu at Si Senor has unique features like the mole chimichanga along with pub-style apps, seafood, and burgers. The chef has also developed an innovative “New Mexican” selection.

Si Señor is located at 1551 East Amador Avenue in Las Cruces. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Sunday through Thursday and until 9:30 p.m. on the weekends.
